A large police presence has gathered outside Congregation B’nai Sholom Synagogue on Church Street around 5:15AM after receiving a number of calls about a disturbance going on there. A News Channel 8 photographer on the scene reports SWAT teams with weapons drawn have surround the synagogue.

One neighbor tells News Channel 8 some teens were trying to steal dirt bikes from a nearby home, and may have fled into the synagogue when police arrived.

Public schools openings nearby were on a two-hour delay because of the police activity.
