Sam, with all due respect to Rav Ovadia’s gadlut, most National Religious Sephardim follow Rav Mordechai Eliahu’s pesakim. Many Jews of North African background follow Rav Mashash’s. Both disagreed with Rav Ovadia’s ruling that Sephardim in EY must follow the Mechaber 100% irregardless of the customs in their previous countries.
