Important Sloatsburg Mincha Area Advisory

In light of last week’s heavy traffic at the Sloatsburg Mincha area, which resulted in the temporary closure of the area, community leaders are reminding the public of some simple, but very important guidelines for the Mincha area, which is located on the northbound side of the New York State Thruway.

If you are travelling up to the Catskills tonight (Thursday), please read the following at CatskillScoop.com.

  1. Can some genius please answer me the following simple question. Why cant people just daven Mincha, either prior to departure or after arrival to the country? Its only a 2-3 hour trip. What is this meshige krankeit that people have with this rest stop?

  2. if one can daven mincha between 1:40 and 8:25, why does there need to be a mincha in the middle of the highway?

  3. I sincerely hope every yid travelling to catskills or back will keep in mind that that the Torah does not command us to be or act above the law of the land. On the contrary it specifically calls on us to make a kiddush Hashem and obeying the law of the land. Please Yidden remember we are in golus suffering enough lets make a kiddush Hashem by obeying simple rules thereby ushering in the geula. Remember DINA DEMALCHUSA DINA!

  4. A list of rules to be a mentch? I don’t know. In my day (many moons ago) we used common sense and plain old human decency. Someone who davens Mincha surely has basic sechel, no?
