If you want to have a good job and be financially secure these days, you need some education. Many jobs such as marketing, journalism, psychology, Kiruv, science, medicine, engineering, law, etc require either high quality English language skills, proficiency in math, or knowledge of science. Teaching also requires education, for obvious reasons.
Unless you want to work at low-paying, menial jobs, you need a basic grounding in English and math. That’s the reality.
