This is the first I have ever heard of a “designated” handicapped spot (and no, I would NEVER EVER park in any handicapped spot). I would imagine other people with HC plates, probably don’t realize this is dedicated specifically to YOU. They may think the designation is for handicapped drivers or passengers, as opposed to anyone else, versus YOUR special needs as opposed to other handicapped drivers/passengers. I agree you should get a big “RESERVED” sign to add there.
