Something savory for Shavuos.
2-1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons cracked black pepper
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1 (8-ounce) carton plain yogurt
½ cup oil
¼ cup milk
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
¼ cup minced scallions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, stir together, flour, sugar, pepper, baking powder and baking soda. Make a well in the center. Whisk together the eggs, yogurt, oil, milk and mustard. Add to flour mixture and begin to stir. Toss in cheese and scallions and stir until just moistened. Pour into greased 8 x 4-inch loaf pan. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool in pan on wire rack for 10 minutes; remove from pan and finish cooling on rack.
