[PHOTO LINK BELOW] More than 30 people were injured Tuesday morning after Egged bus 405 collided with a truck on highway 1 near Ben Shemen interchange. One person (an Israeli Arab) was killed and four sustained moderate injuries. The rest are lightly injured. Highway 1 was completely closed to traffic.
The accident took place during rush hour, near the exit to highway 443. It is still unclear what caused the crash, but it was not a head-on collision. United Hatzalah who was at the scene, said the accident was serious, and that trapped passengers had to be rescued.
