In a dramatic incident reported first by YWN, El Al flight 027 landed safely at Ben Gurion Airport early Monday after hours of tension following the discovery of a malfunction on the Boeing 777 jet.
Emergency forces deployed at the airport en masse after a malfunction was discovered in the plane’s wheels a short while after it took off for Newark Airport – packed with Americans returning to the U.S. after spending Lag BaOmer in Meron.
Boruch Hashem, all 270 passengers aboard the plane are safe.

What was the problem with the gear? It looks like a regular and very smooth landing from the video?

Thank gd, the plane did not continue on to Newark and depend on the staffing there for emergency assistance.
#4 – Every El Al pilot is a former IAF pilot. Chasdei Hashem, the zchus of Rabi Shimon and the tefillos of the tzibbur helped enable a beautiful ending to a scary few hours.
