1. Perhaps I can make one correction, “He was the son of Hagoen Rav Zalman Sorotzkin ZATZAL, and a son-in-law of Hagoen Rav Elya Meir Bloch ZATZAL (Both Roshei Yeshivos in Telz).”

   Rav Zalman Sorotzkin was Lutzker Rav and not a Rosh Yeshiva in Telz.

2. Rav Zalman Sorotzkin, (Lutzker Rav, and mechaber of Oznaim Latorah, and moznaim l’mishpat among others) was not a Rosh Yeshiva in Telshe. He was a son in law of Rav Leizer Gordon, aka Rav Leizer Telzer, and brother in law of Rav Yosef Leib Bloch. Rav Leizer Sorotzkin’s Brother, Rav Boruch ZT”l was Rosh Yeshiva in Telshe. (Also Rav Boruch’s son Rav Yitzchok, was a RY there, before moving to Lakewood a few years ago. R’ Leizer’s son in law, R’ Shlomo Eisenberger is one of the current Roshei Yeshiva in Cleveland.) Rav Leizer himself also was a maggid shiur in the bais medrash in Telshe Cleveland before moving to Telshe Stone in the 1970s.

   he must have been very old his father was niftar 1966/7 (not sure), and he wasn’t a young man.
   does anyone what was his shteller (position)?

4. Rav Zalman Sorotzkin was son in law of Rav Layzer Gordon – The Telzer R’Y (though he personally was Lutzker Rov.) So, Rav Zalman was uncle of Rav Elya Meir Bloch.

   I met the niftar a few times in the ’80’s and think he was one of the heads of Chinuch Atzmai. I think his son directs Lev L’Achim/Pe’eylim.

   Sounds like you met the Niftars brother……who ran Chinuch Atzmai, and whos son directs Lev L’Achim.

   It was Rav Elchanan Sorotzkin I met, not the niftar.
   Regardless, I see what a beautiful family Rav Zalman Sorotzkin created.

12. HARAV ELIEZER SOROTZKIN ZT”L was my Rebbe in Telz in 5728. He was an older brother of the Rosh Yeshiva Harav Boruch zt”l. According to my cheshbon he was 91. He oversaw the buiiding of Kiryat Telz-Stone. He lost a daughter many years ago, the wife of R’ Shlomo Eisenberger shlit”a A rosh Yeshiva in Telz. Yehei zichro Boruch. TNZB”H
