Btw, Edward could legally marry a divorcee under Anglician law, but he was forced to abdicate because it was considered unbecoming for a King to marry a divorcee. Not that it was illegal.
So I’m still unsure how you are demonstrating that Anglician law didn’t allow for divorce until much after Henry’s times.
