Who is right? Neither.
She was a stupid kid. Someone should have warned her to show respect and decorum before a judge, and that there could be a price to pay if she didn’t.
He was a bully and a tyrant. He provoked her by doubling her bond, taunting her with a sarcastic “Adios”, and then when she snapped and cursed at him, sentenced her to a month in prison.
Just curious – is there a limit to the length of the “contempt” penalty a judge can give? Let’s say he wanted to send her off for five years – could he?
