Did R’ Shlomo Zalman Auerback sit on an egged bus?
More than 30 years ago, I was on a Egged bus going all the way from Yerusholayim to to Tzfat {which in those days went by the Jordan River}, sitting across from Rav Yisroel Zeev Gustman ZT’L. This was the 1st time I heard of him, but this left an indelible impression on me, and I met him several times subsequently, and even seriously considered enrolling at his Yeshiva Netzach Yisroel.
By the way, I also met Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach ZT’L over a 100 times, as I spent 1/2 year in Shaarei Chessed where I saw him daily at Gra Shul, often with him hearing me leading services & doing Kerias haToroh.
So a resounding “Yes”, taht Gedolei Yisroel belong on buses & commercial aviation with the rest of mankind.
