Passenger Subdued After Trying To Open Door On Delta Flight To Boston

A man was detained by other passengers after trying to open an emergency exit door on a Delta Air Lines flight from Orlando to Boston late Tuesday, myFOXboston.com reported.

State police confirmed to FOX News Channel that a passenger on board Delta flight 1102 had attempted to open the door while the aircraft was in flight and other passengers were holding him until the plane landed.

Police were on stand by to meet the plane at Boston Logan International Airport.

The incident comes just two days after a Yemeni man was subdued after allegedly ramming the cockpit door on an American Airlines flight from Chicago to San Francisco, and another man tried to open the door on a Continental airlines flight bound for Chicago from Houston.

Rageit Almurisi, 28, was charged with interfering with flight crew on the American Airlines flight after banging on the cockpit door Sunday. He was restrained by flight attendants and cuffed until the plane landed safely at San Francisco Airport.

The Continental airlines flight bound for Chicago was diverted to St. Louis when the 34-year-old man ran to the door saying he had to get off.

He was subdued by 60-year-old US army veteran Tony Harris, who told the Chicago Tribune he used a mixed-martial-arts-style chokehold to bring the man to the ground, rendering him unconscious.

Harris said the man told him he had had “a rough Mother’s Day” when he was asked why he wanted to get off the plane.

    I’m shocked!

I thought it would have turned out to be a 90 year old Italian lady.

    A 28 year old moslem! Hmmm… who’d have imagined…
