The Jewish community in the UK is accusing the courts system of not taking anti-semitism seriously after three teenagers escaped prison for attacking and threatening to kill two yeshiva bochrim.
Two men aged 18 and 19 were given suspended sentences and a 17-year-old was handed a curfew and community service at Bolton Crown Court on Monday after pleading guilty to racially aggravated assault.
The court heard that the defendants shouted anti-Semitic abuse at the students as they walked home, telling them, “you are going to die tonight”. One victim received a broken tooth and needed 23 staples in his head after being hit with a metal bar by one of the attackers while the others kicked him while he was on the floor. The other victim was left with a pain in the leg.

i meant to say that to make a fuss that we are the same as other nations is a stupid thing and not only doesn’t help it also provokes anti-semitism. it is a bitter pill to swallow but medicine is always bitter and this is a medicine for the waiting of moshiach. Look at history and see if they ever fought anti-semitism by saying we are the same as you, they only fought it by giving money or other such means.

No where in the Torah does it say ” let the sheigetz beat you because you are in golus”. Although I agree with you I don’t think its fair to attach Machmoud. Although he is a bit confused. The fact remains that you both have a good point many people cause these problems from their own stupidity. We must remember to behave as we are in galous and don’t have the same protection .
YZCCJR, I am not suggesting we become like the ACLU or CAIRE. But when we are attacked and injured we have the civil duty to protect ourselves. We cannot tolerate a group of thugs to get away with murder. When they are prosecuted by the fullest extent of the law, and by naming these crimes hate crimes, it will maximize their sentance , it certainly is worthwile.

maybe you tore it out from the midrash or the censor (jewish one) tore it out cause it upset him. i never heard of a godol who said that it is a mitzvah or chiyuv especially as at the time there were still people around who were with the nazi shitah.
and about venishmartem: I once heard from R’ Meir Solovaitchik Shlit”a that first you see if a thing is muttar, & then you go to the torah- he was talking about a girl learning chol & said if it is ossur you cannot go to say that it is a kiddush hashem, here too if we are in golus, & have to accept what is coming from the goyim, all we have reshus to do is to keep away from them and then say there is venishmartem to have to do it, but to fight back & say we are the same as them, would be ossur cause of golus, hence there is no venishmartem on that.
