A 26-year-old man, stabbed his father during Shabbos morning Davening in an Ashkelon Shul. The man entered the Shul, approached his father and suddenly stabbed him. The father was treated at the hospital and discharged. Police said the son is on psychiatric medication. He was taken in for observation and then arrested, but police do not think he will be found competent to stand trial. (Haaretz News)

what a horrible rachmanos!
WHY WOULD A SON DO SUCH A THING? WERE THERE ANY UNDERLYING ISSUES BETWEEN THIS SON AND FATHER? MORE INFORMATION ON SUCH A STORY WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
Moshe,
I can assure you that there were issues there however none warranted homocide.
When someone is on medication prescribed by a psychiatrist, their body is very sensitive to changes in medication. If a person misses even one daily dose, the effects could lead to homocide & even suicide. That’s my guess as to what happened.
And yes, I do have personal experience on this topic.
I DONT BELIEVE A HOMOCIDE OCCURED. THE ARTICLE STATED THE FATHER WAS TREATED AND RELEASED. I MENT NO OFFENSE, AS I HAVE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ON THE ISSUE ALSO. I TRUELY HOPE THIS MAN AND HIS SON CAN WORK THINGS OUT. I WILL DAVEN FOR THEM BOTH.
Moshe,
B’rocha V’hatzlocho to you.
I’m happy the father was released.
I will daven for them too.
