Even when summer actually arrives, we still need snacks for our kids. And ones that don’t involve the oven are the best of all.
2-1/2 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups quick oats
½ cup raisins
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup corn syrup
½ cup peanut butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
Combine Rice Krispies, oats and raisins in a large bowl. In a small saucepan over medium heat, bring brown sugar and corn syrup to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla. Pour over cereal mixture and stir until completely coated. Cool slightly and stir in chocolate chips. Press into 9 x 13-inch pan and cool completely on wire rack. Cut into bars.
