Mayor Bloomberg signaled support Friday for a City Council plan to reduce alternate-side parking restrictions – but worries too many loopholes could make it difficult to enforce.
The Council passed a bill Thursday that would allow neighborhoods to drop an alternate-side parking day if they continually score well on city cleanliness ratings.
A mayoral spokesman said Bloomberg will sign it into law – but Hizzoner cautioned that easing the restrictions any further could be a problem.
“The more exceptions you have … then nobody can remember [the rules],” Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show.
