Sam2 – I am aware of that halacha (ironically, Rabbi Abadi alludes to this point in the first teshuva of his sefer). He was not a katan though. I believe he was in his late teens when he developed a relationship with the Chazon Ish, who eventually sent him to Lakewood to learn by R’ Aharon Kotler.
