President Obama will be expanding his town-hall-style sessions to the next frontier, White House officials said on Tuesday: Facebook.

Mr. Obama will hold a town-hall-style meeting with Facebook’s chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, on April 20, while the president is on a trip to California, his aides said. The session will be conducted from Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, and will be streamed live.

White House officials said that Mr. Obama would discuss the economy and the debt. Mr. Obama used social media during his campaign for president in 2008. On Monday, he announced plan to run for re-election in 2012.
