This evening, as Rosh Chodesh Nissan begins, Maran Hagon Rav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv Shlita, is marking his 101st birthday.
A large group of his Talmidim, those close to him, and family members, gathered at his Bais Medrash to Daven for the Refuah Shelaima of the Posek Hador, who has not left his home in the past two weeks to deliver his Shiurim, due to severe pain in his legs.
Until two weeks ago, Rav Elyashiv kept to his busy schedule, delivering his Shiurim, and seeing dozens of people seeking advice, Brachos, and Halachic questions.
His day starts at 3:00AM when he awakens to start learning. He leaves his home at 6:00AM for Shacharis, which always has numerous Brissim taking place, as people would all like to have the Zechus of Rav Elyashiv as Sandek. In the evening, he leaves his home once again for Maariv, and to deliver his daily Shiur.
Rav Elyashiv was Zoche seeing the birth of a sixth generation close to two years ago, a great grandchild to Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita, a son to his great grandchild, R’ Yonatan Hoenigsberg.
May he be Zoche to greet Moshiach in our days!

What is his name for Tehillim and Refaaynu?
I believe a great great grandchild is the 5th generation including him. Or am I making a mostake?
Either way, Mazel Tov and hope the Gadol Hador has the koach to continue being the active Gadol Hador that he has been for so many years KA”H.
Yoisef Sholom be Chayah Musha. I’ve been including him in my birkas Refoainu for a while.
He should be an inspiration to us all, and in that zchus he should have a refuah shleimo.
Yomim al yimei melech toisif, Vehu yolicheinu likras moshiach tzidkeinu.
( for those of u who do youtube, u should check out how he learns, with a nigun and a geshmak. )
Only 120? People live longer these days and so I’m upping it to 200. And all of his days should be pain-free, illness free and filled with continued great mitzvot.
