I was using the internet in 1994, it was NOT new in 2002. The only thing that occured around 2002 was that everyone started having high speed internet connections (DSL and Cable Modems) in their houses instead of just at their jobs
Mass uses of Cell phones date back to around 1986 when the Cell was inveted (Prior to that a different system was used).
Fine iPods are new, but WALKMANS and DISCMANS date back to the 1980’s
