YW regrets to inform you of the Petirah of Harav Osher Katz ZATZAL. Rabbi Katz – long time executive of BMG first came to the Yeshiva as one of the first 13 talmidim of Reb Aaron ZATZAL. In fact Rabi Katz never left the Yeshiva – staying on as a Choshve staff member until approximately two years ago. Even then Rabbi Katz stayed in close contact with many at the Yeshiva office. He even attended this past dinner – full of simcha to see so many people come out in honor of Bnei HaYeshiva.
Rabbi Katz was close to three generations of Roshei HaYeshiva and continually had the Yeshiva close to his heart in every way.
The Levaya will I”H take place at BMG at 1:00PM.

I think Rabbi Katz was still a talmid in Kletzk. He was born in Germany but traveled to eastern Europe to study in yeshivos.
Is the levaya coming to EY ?
Levaya is leaving BMG (lakewood) at 3Pm to make a JFK 5:30 flight to EY
R’ Osher Z”L has a son living in Baltimore who is a son-in-law of the famous batchan R’ Chaim Mendel Mermelstein z”l.

I was a young single out of towner living in New York and I worked in the Lakewood office on 5th Avenue in Manhattan many years ago. How lucky I was to work under Rav Osher Katz A”H who always had a warm smile and a nice word for all the secretaries and everyone in the office. He was kind, soft spoken and very smart.

This site is intended to help organize a complete siyum on shas mishnayos in memory of the person recently niftar. Since neshamos can still benefit from our learning it is a special zechus to help anyone that was niftar by learning mishnayos on their behalf. The word Mishnah and Neshama are composed of the exact same hebrew letters indicating a special bond between the two. For that reason, mishnayos have become the customary subject of torah to learn following a petirah.
