According to the Gemara in Menachos you would not lose out on the mitzvah of tzitzis even if this is not the correct techeiles. They have done chemical tests from techeiles from the bees hamikdash and this techeiles and turns out its a match.. I happen to wear techeiles. A lot of people i know that don’t wear techeiles is only because there is no Gadol that does it, so there logic is “why should they.”
