Rav Schachter says that we can’t lose Eretz Yisroel again. He proves it from a Gemara and a Ramban Al Hatorah (quoting Rav Hertzog). So even though it’s not Al Pi Halachah, it’s still in Jewish hands and we’re Muvtach from HKBH that it won’t leave.
