You can’t let someone go off the derech and you cant pin them down, either. The best way not to let them go is to let them know the truth. What they are chasing after is false and they will realize that; some sooner, some later. People should not lose their patience with someone like this. Keep an eye out on them the keep giving them the truth. Believe they will realize the falsehood of what they are doing, but supports and the truth have to be nearby and done in a sensitive manner.
