VIDEO & PHOTOS: Outrage Over December Blizzard Cleanup Still Fresh In Flatbush

Neither the snow nor the anger has melted in South Brooklyn, six weeks after the blizzard that paralyzed the city. Residents sounded off in Marine Park on Wednesday night, at the sixth and final city council public hearing on the city’s response to the storm. A representative from the Sanitation Department and one from the mayor’s office were on hand to listen and report back. But they did not respond to the many questions thrown their way.

The goal of the hearings is to gather information to help put together a new and improved plan going forward.

South Brooklyn had its own hearing because it was among the areas hardest hit by the storm and one of the last get streets cleaned. City Councilman Lewis Fidler, who represents the area, says the blame falls on City Hall.

  2. In the thirty’s there is still so much snow. So many lost parking spots. Wonder why they have alternate side – nothing being done about it anyway.
