Avram, I like your theory but not the logic. Number 2 just doesn’t make sense. OlderMan calls family X and says (in a low pitch, professional voice), “There is some anonymous person on our blog that says he/she is part of your family!(!!!)”
Family X responds: “and?”
OlderMan: “We are not sure if s/he is legitimate!”
Mr. X: “And if he’s not in my family, then what?”
OlderMan (hyperventilating): “Then he is not legit!”
Mr. X: “Legit what??”
OlderMan: “This is a serious security threat and you are taking it lightly!!!”
Mr. X: “I think I have a beep”
