im with popa on this one. i once heard, either from rav moshe meir weiss or rabbi krohn that the definition of gavra rabba is someone who saves another’s life. hatzalah was specifically mentioned. since then i have found it difficult to find fault with any active member of hatzalah (not the tune beigels who mop the ambulances and therefore have radios which make them feel powerful) for doing something that’s a bit outside of the system. seriously people who complain about hatzala are either blessed with exceptionally good health…and their families…or are just a bunch of ungrateful bums.
