IMHO you have nothing to be embarrassed about. It was a beautiful act and it deserves praise no doubt. However, it shows a lot about YOU as well! That this incident got you thinking, you posted, and started to make a personal account (cheshbon Hanefesh) about your behaviour and actions. If you took something good out of this, ashrechah, and kudos for getting US to think about what our reaction would have been!
