“Dayan Weiss, the Minchas yitzchock was famous for saying that all scotch is kosher. Sherry he said id not a problem because it does not add flavour it just takes away a bitter flavour. Additionally, the sherry barrels used in scotch are reused many times and the flavour is not apparent therefore it is botul beroiv. Dayan Westheim of igud harabonim (KIR) in manchester concurs with him as do many gedolim who have researched scoth properly.”
Englishveg: Rabbi Eidlitz of Kosher Quest out here in LA writes on his website regarding Scotch: “No Hashgacha required on any except when label states aged exclusively in sherry casks, sherry finish, port finish or dual cask finish.”

Rabosai, is this not the view of rov Poskim? Seriously, I need to know as I have been drooling to try Macallan. Help a sober brother out.
