The Hudson County Sheriff’s Office is sending two of its sheriff’s officers and two German shepherds in its K-9 unit to Ocean County to help search for the murder weapon used to kill Lakewood Police Officer Christopher Matlosz, officials said tonight.
Matlosz, 27, died after being shot three times on Jan. 14. Jahmell Crockam, 19, of Lakewood, was arrested in a Camden apartment and charged with the murder. The weapon has not been recovered, officials said.
The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office requested the dogs Sunday afternoon and Hudson County Sheriff Frank Schillari agreed to send the two dogs that are trained to find bombs or weapons.
“We are very pleased to cooperate with this investigation and to provide any assistance that we can in this matter,” Schillari said in a statement.

I really doubt the gun is in lkwd
Who cares where the gun is? The guy had plenty of time to do whatever he could to get rid of the “evidence.” He could’ve flushed it down a toilet (somehow). Waste of time.
#1, where do you think it is?
