The American Lung Association said New York isn’t doing enough to protect its residents when it comes to smoking.
The Lung Association’s ninth annual State of Tobacco Control report was released Thursday. The report evaluates whether states are doing what the group considers enough to protect people against the health problems associated with tobacco use.
Eight states received all F’s and no states got all A’s.
New York received failing grades for the amount of money it spends on tobacco prevention and health-care coverage for cessation.
However, it earned A’s for its smoking laws and cigarette tax.

So the lung association wants the New York legislature to overstep it’s constitutional powers and ban a behavior?
good luck with that!!
People in this country have a right to be as self destructive and stupid as they want as long as they are not hurting anyone else. And since it’s illegal to smoke within a thousand yards of anywhere there might be someone who would be offended, you can no longer argue that they are hurting anyone else but themselves.
Stop trying to legislate and ban things you find distasteful.
Smoking is a filthy, disgusting, and selfish thing to do.
Smokers: Put your children before your taiyva!!!
