Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva Urge Bnei HaYeshiva In Signed Letter To Participate In Police Funeral

The Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva Shlita have just released a signed notice urging the Frum Community of Lakewood to pay their respects to Police Officer Christopher Matlosz, who was brutally murdered last Friday afternoon, in an execution-style killing.

YWN has also learned that the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Malkiel Kotler Shlita along with Mashgiach, Rav Mattisyahu Solomon Shlita, paid a visit to the Lakewood Police Department Headquarters earlier this week, in order to personally pay their respects and offer their condolences to the members of the Lakewood Police Department.

The location of the gathering for Thursday’s funeral, will be on Monmouth Avenue, between 7th Street and 12th Street.

The procession will be making its way down Monmouth Avenue between 11:10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., and residents are asked to stand on either side of the road. Overflow crowds will move towards County Line Road.

It is also requested by Askonim as well as by the police department, that those in attendance show extreme sensitivity to the deceased and to the procession, by avoiding any unnecessary talk or noise while the procession makes its way through Lakewood.

  2. For crying out loud! They have to be urged and prodded to the the right and moral thing? I hope they execl better in learning better than their midos. Apparently, unlike when I was growing up, today the two seem to be mutually exclusive. My father, a”h used to say “Saichel iz a tiereh zach”.
