Stop complaining about recycling in New York. In many countries in Europe, e.g. Switzerland
you can only use special garbage bags which are costly, and only for non-recycable rubbish.
PET bottles (e.g. plastic water etc) – back to the shop you bought them( e.g supermarket) they have a little hole somewhere where you spend ages posting each one through a hole 2 microns larger than the bottle.
Cardboard: normally collected on prescribed days and left out on the kerbside in bundles the night before (not earlier)
Paper: normally collected on prescribed days and left out on the kerbside in bundles the night before (not earlier)
Tins: To a collection point normally somewhere in town on the street
Glass: To a collection point normally somewhere in town on the street (sorted by colour, e.g.
clear, green, blue)
Vegetable matter: (vegetables bought from the supermarket and not used within 6milliseconds, coffee grounds, peelings etc) Goes in a special biodegradeable plasic bag then in a green dustbin at your apartment block
Other stuff (except batteries hazardous stuff etc) in costly paid bags then in the rubbish container by your house. (Everybody crushes everything in order to fit as much as possible in those bag).
