When I said no talking I was including laining as well. I don’t feel the need for the Rave to talk although its always a nice thing especially if he is a good speaker and he is inspiring. The camaraderie after soul is a nice touch as well but certainly not necessary and not part of the shul experience. A shul is for Torah and Tefillah. Its not a social club. If people want to schmooze in the hallways or in front of the soul kol hakavod.
