I did not (or do not) know if the P’sak was given by R’ Elyashiv. I do not want to know if it was given by R’ Elyashiv. All I know is that a woman died because of a case that is Mefurash in a Mishnah. I have spoken to R’ Elyashiv before and disagreed with him in person before. I would love to hear his interpretation of this if he ever explained it. I in no way claim to be anywhere near even close to being 1% as knowledgeable as he is. If asked a Shaila I would never disagree with him without someone of equal stature disagreeing with him first. That being said, I have still never heard any justification for this particular P’sak.
