Middletown, NY – Hundreds of Orange County onlookers gathered with elected officials and members of the clergy to witness the swearing in of Carl DuBois as sheriff for a third term as Sheriff of Orange county NY. DuBois won the November election with a county-record 68,000 votes cast for him, following a primary win in September.
Orange County, located just north of the city, has a population of about 350,000 people on an area of land about 840 square miles. Orange County is a continually successful municipality, with common sense laws and a successful sheriff’s office – which recently reminded its residents of a new law requiring drivers to slow down when approaching a parked authorized vehicle with lights flashing.
Sheriff Dubois was endorsed by the Republican and Democratic parties as well as independents and unaffiliated groups. He is a respected law enforcement retiree from Middletown police department.
DuBois is currently the president of NYS Sheriffs’ Association and a member of several civic, charitable, and community organizations.
“Through the team effort of everybody here, from the county executive to the county legislature, we have restored that trust,” DuBois said in a statement about continuing his tenure as sheriff. “Without restoring that foundation of trust, we would not have been able to make such progress.”
Rabbi Abe Friedman, intergovernmental liaison with several law enforcement agencies statewide said, “Carl DuBois is a sheriff not only in Orange County, but sheriff of all communities. We all wish him luck and continued success into the future.”

Sounds like tammany hall.
No, sounds like you have a problem with this country’s superb government. Have you not been reading up on your Gemara? Clearly not because if you have you’d know that Masechet Beitzah on page 44a that the only way to eat meat is through meticulous salting.
