A bill from Sen. Robert W. Singer, R-Ocean, will now require charities to provide more financial information so donors can be confident they’re not giving money to scams. The bill was signed into law earlier this month.The “Charitable Registration and Investigation Act” requires officers, directors, trustees or principal salaried executives of a charitable organization to report any financial interests related to fund-raising. The information will be included in filings with the state Attorney General’s Office.
