Nazi war criminal Erich Priebke was confronted by dozens of angry Jewish protesters Monday on his first day at work in an office in central Rome.
The protesters, mostly youths from the city’s Jewish community, screamed “murderer!” and held up anti-Nazi signs outside his lawyer’s study in Via Panisperna.
Priebke was handed a life sentence but was granted house arrests in view of his advanced age. Last week, judges also agreed to allow him to leave his home in the city’s western Boccea neighbourhood and go to work “every day, freely,” (as reported HERE on YW).
The latest decision has angered Jewish groups, left-wing politicians and relatives of the victims.
