Reply To: Can one give "Maaser" by volenteering time?

I have a freind who has a reguler job, but in the evening he drives a bus for a school and instead of getting paid he asks the school to deduct that from a poor family’s tuition. Is that the same as taking that amount from the school and giving it directly to the family so they can `pay tuition?
