Police temporarily shut down Terminal A at Newark-Liberty International Airport on Monday as a precaution. A suspicious package was found at a security checkpoint at about 8 a.m.
The suspicious device turned out to be a computer monitor emitting small amounts of radiation and posed no danger, according to the FBI.
“The device is being shipped to the same destination as it’s owner who is already in flight. It appears there is no cause for alarm, but authorities are taking the necessary precautions to be certain. The investigation is ongoing,” said the representative for the FBI Public Affairs Office.
The FBI gave the all- clear approximately 40 minutes later.
