New York’s most influential advocates for Toeiva rights say the chances are better than ever to legalize same-gender marriage, even in a Republican-controlled Senate.
The Empire State Pride Agenda says their count after the November elections shows a net gain of two votes for Toeiva marriage. The group also notes Senate Republican leader Dean Skelos has promised to bring the issue to the floor again.
A year ago, the measure passed in the Assembly, but failed in the Senate by eight votes.
Democratic Gov.-elect Andrew Cuomo made Toeiva marriage a significant element in his campaign.
The Pride Agenda also says Thursday that Republican candidate Carl Paladino’s opposition to Toeiva marriage has actually generated more political support for legalizing same-gender marriage.

How about a Kleptomaniac Pride Movement?
If I have a strong taiyva to steal, is that my fault?
Of course not, G-d obviously made me that way, and if G-d made me that way, then being a kleptomaniac is as legitimate a life style as that of you non-stealers.
As soon as enough law-makers can be mobilized, stealing WILL definitely be legalized here in S’dom, ooops I mean New York.
These toeiva’niks have problems counting. When it was brought for a vote last time, they thought they had the votes, but they had a big defeat, it wasn’t even close.
They try to spin things to create (ch”v) momentum for their teoivah agenda. They are experienced liars and propagandists.
Let them go back into the closet and stop their lies and toeivah propaganda. NY state is in enough trouble at this time, and now they want to institutionalize shmutz here?
People should mobilize to send them packing. No new votes every few months on this garbage. It has already been decided, no need to bring it up again.
“VeHorasha’im Kayum Nigrosh, Ki Hashket Lo Yuchal!”–No rest for the wicked. they just keep on coming.
New York just elected a governor who PROMISED to get toayva “marriage” legalized!
For the record – I am opposed to same-gender marriage.
Nonetheless, Comment #1 – There’s a flaw in your logic. Someone who steals, by definition steals from someone else and causes harm to another person. Those in favor of same-gender marriage would shrug off such a comparison (and would be right) because here we are talking about consenting adults and no one is a victim like in the theft case!
Regardless, we should be opposed to same-gender marriage for the overall impact and harm it will do on society and its values.

THAT’S their problem? Numbers? Silly me, I thought it was something a bit more serious.
if it passes blame the people in power in our comunities who saidto vote for him.
I know i voted for palidino
Once they break down the fundamentals of marriage as they have been for 5771 years and legalize toayvas, why not legalize incest, beastiality, etc., too. Why stop with happy people marriage (and that’s EXACTLY what will happen!)?
Meir-123 (#5)…
You yourself answered your criticism of my comment (#1).
Legalizing toayva “marriage” is NOT a victim-less crime!
Our entire society is the victim.
It was the acceptance of the toayva lifestyle that brought entire empires to their collapse.
#7,
Paladino was probably the worst advocate possible for the anti-same-sex-marriage position.
#9,
Which empires collapsed as the result of same sex marriage? I’m unaware of any.
