WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange had his bail ruling in Britain upheld on appeal, a setback to U.K. prosecutors who sought to keep him jailed during an extradition fight with Sweden.
The ruling today by the High Court in London upholds a Dec. 14 decision to free Assange on condition that he turn in his passport, wear an electronic tag and remain at a friend’s home for eight hours a day. Assange must also post bail of 200,000 pounds ($311,800).
Assange, 39, is wanted for questioning in Sweden over various allegations unrelated to WikiLeaks. He turned himself in to U.K. police on Dec. 7 after Swedish authorities issued a European arrest warrant.

Yeah, just like liberals such as former Mario Cuomo in America, and Obama, for that matter, make sure the perps sre given every conceivable right and every opportunity to flee, never mind the rights of the victims. Not long ago the Scots invented a cock-and-bull story that the convicted Locherbie airplane bomber was soon to die of cancer and they set him free as a “humanitarian” gesture. He went back to Libys where he was welcomed as a hero, and over a year later, he’s still very much alive. It was all a trick to gain rights to Arab oil for the U.K. Justice is way down on the list of concerns where money is involved. England is the same.
How can they try to call him a flight risk if he turned himself in?
