Lakewood: Lake Terrace Wedding Hall Makes Kiddush Hashem

As Yeshivaworld reported yesterday (HERE), there was a false bomb threat at the Leisure Park Assisted Living Center, in Lakewood. Close to 400 elderly residents needed to be evacuated from the building while bomb-sniffing dogs were brought into the premises. To make matters worse it started raining while the elderly and infirm sat in the rain.

Ocean County quickly activated it’s emergency system which called for dozens of ambulances to evacuate the residents to other nearby facilities.

A few residents suffered from medical emergencies – and needed to be transported to local hospitals.

As Yeshivaworld reported yesterday, Lakewood Hatzolah was operating on the scene making a Kiddush Hashem by sending three ambulances to assist in evacuating residents as well.

This mornings Asbury Park Press mentioned an additional Kiddush Hashem.

Many residents were evacuated to Lake Terrace Wedding Hall, a plush banquet facility in Lakewood Industrial Park, where Greenwald Catering provided food and drinks for the evacuees.

The Lakewood police chief expressed gratitude to Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kanarek, the banquet facility owner, and said Rabbi Moshe Dovid Ehrman “was extremely helpful in getting things organized” for using the facility.

Leisure Park residents were allowed to return about 11:45AM.

  4. Why is it some of you just can’t handle seeing the success of others (sabra, iameckstein)? Does it bother you so much that others have what you don’t? The second YW posts somthing about any wealthy guy, you (few) commenters waste no time in, What does this have to do with Yesiva World? Stop being so jelous of others and maybe go try and earn a few bucks, then we can all read your name on YW.

  5. NO, SABRA, IT IS “MOSHE DOVID”, NOT “DUVID”. HE MAY HAVE CHASSIDISHE BLOOD BUT HE AINT A “CHUSID”.

YW – LOOK AT WHERE WE ARE GOING WITH THIS!! “DOVID” OR “DUVID”, “HASID”, “HUSID” OR “CHASID”!!

PEOPLE – LET US STICK TO THE TOPIC AT HAND!! THIS IS NOT A LINGUISTIC OR SEMANTIC CLASS!!!:)

If we would always stick to the topic at hand, about 90% of the debates on this website would never take place. 🙂

  7. way to go moshe duuuuvid! only question is why didnt you bring them to yeshiva ketana – aren’t you looking for teachers?!

  8. iameckstein, a few questions. answer honestly.

    1) are you in Kollel or are you a worker?
    2) if you are in Kollel, who helps support you – your parents, your in-laws or some business man who makes much money?
    3) if you are in the workforce,
a)do you stop working each day when you have enough money to provide for your daily needs or do you keep plugging away and making more than you need?
    b) if you make more than you need each day, do you bank it or distribute it to the poor?
    c) at what point do you decide that you have enough and no longer seek to make more?

do you understand where I am going with this? you took a slap at someone in this thread for no reason b/c they made more money than you feel is neccessary, yet, if the opportunity arose to make tons of dough, honestly, are you turning it down?

  9. Whoever thought an evacuation would lead to a DUVID – DAVID – DOVID discussion? Stick with the topic (tupic? tapic? tipic?) at hand…
