Daas Yochid: Was it publicized earlier at the request of R’ Moshe, or by someone else? I didn’t mean that R’ Moshe didn’t write the letter, I meant it wasn’t his opinion to publicize it. That was R’ Forst’s decision. Just to note, R’ Forst is generally machmir on many things that other big Rabbonim are meikel on. Just because he felt it was ok to publicize it didn’t mean that R’ Moshe intended for it. If R’ Moshe had intended it, it would have been in the Igros.
