Actually, I used yichud as an example because it fits the comparison much better than eating pork or speaking lashon hara. Eating pork is something you can’t do AT ALL, while yichud is permissible with certain people, such as your wife. Just like yichud is okay with your wife or other relatives, mixed swimming with your wife or certain other relatives is an exception (not “acception”).
