With no rain clouds on the horizon, thousands of people gathered Monday afternoon at 3:30PM by the Kosel to pray for rain on a day proclaimed as a fast day. This is the second such day this winter, which has seen extremely limited rainfall. The prayers were lead by the chief rabbis of Israel and were organized by activists from various organizations. Jews from all walks of life attended the event.
The general public was asked to join in by praying for rain on Monday afternoon, whether or not they are at the Kosel.
