Plane Makes Emergency Landing At JFK Airport After Fire Reported In Engine

It was a tense evening at JFK Airport Sunday evening, as emergency crews waited for a plane to land after reports of flames spewing from one of the aircraft’s wings. More than 100 firefighters were dispatched to the Airport in Queens awaiting the arrival of the aircraft that was reported to be having problems while in flight.

Fire officials said the plane had touched down safely at about 5:50PM, and there were no injuries reported on board.

It appeared that the plane had lost an engine on take off. Officials said that the plane had dumped fuel before making the emergency landing.

YWN has learned that the aircraft was Delta flight 30, a Boeing 767 which had departed JFK for Moscow. There were approximately 200 people on board the aircraft.
