A disturbing video surfaced on Friday night showing what appears to be a TSA agent strip searching a young boy, with his father standing nearby. The video, which was uploaded to Youtube, was filmed while a boy was randomly selected to undergo a random security check.
The video’s description read, “Lets get the facts straight first. Before the video started the boy went through a metal detector and didn’t set it off but was selected for a pat down. The boy was shy so the TSA couldn’t complete the full pat on the young boy. The father tried several times to just hold the boys arms out for the TSA agent but i guess it didn’t end up being enough for the guy. I was about 30 ft away so i couldn’t hear their conversation if there was any. The enraged father pulled his son shirt off and gave it to the TSA agent to search, thats when this video begins.”
The HotAir website writes the following regarding this disturbing video: “This is sure to enrage lots of parents and it should. I understand the need for security, but this is such overkill. It’s really starting to feel like an incompetent administration, who doesn’t want to have another bombing attempt on its watch, is going to extraordinary means to ensure it doesn’t look bad. I mean, yeah, it’s about the American public’s safety, I get that. But with this level of privacy invasion, it is also starting to feel political as well.”

I would bet the kid was NOT yishmaeli.
THAT would have been too politically INcorrect!
Security has gone way out of control…Profiling is the answer people…..Machines can’t read a terrorist’s mind. Profilers can. Lets assume the terrorist is just taking the flight to get from point A to point B to do a terror attack
in a mall, sports area or where ever large numbers of people are gathering. Not all terrorist are going to blow up the airplane. This little boy will have nightmares for years to come!
AOM: The kid was a kahanaist, a member of that terror org, so it is understandable.
unfortunately, terrorist will resort to using children. =I don’t blame TSA.
simcha613 – …
You are correct that terrorists will use (and in fact, have used) children in terrorist attacks, BUT…
To strip a young kid in a public place when there is no clear reason to think he has any terrorist connections, where it is just a “random” selection, is insane.
Common sense has totally gone down the drain.
These security techniques are just “feel-good” methods (much like the New York gun control laws) to make people think they are safer, when they are not really any safer at all!
#4: No, it has nothing to do with American patriots’ security against terrorists and everything to do with intimidating us – does your memory go back to the 1930’s? – in preparation for the camps. The Obama cabal intends to drive us into plaintive submission. I regret to say some of us have already accepted the first stage of conditioning: “whatever it takes” for security, without thinking what that means – better to be humiliated by perverts and voyeurs and then fly to Florida (!). The really effective security techniques are those of the Israelis, but they CAN stop Muslim terrorists and their supporters before they even get on line.
What?! Stop Muslim terrorists?!
The TSA – and Obama – tacit agenda: ‘First, demean them, then put them in dhimitude’.
If you really care, e-mail your elected representatives – and phone them – and let them know we are on to their game.
Let us hope and pray the Conservatives in the House force the president’s hand to change things back to more normalcy when they come to power on 1/3/2010.
Enough with the Socialist Liberal Democrat Workers Party agenda!
#6 – You hit the nail right on the head. The TSA’s methods are just a show. They need to emulate EL-AL’s protocols and not worry so much about profiling.
Just e clear, if any one of you does this, you will be facing a long long time in jail. And no matter how innocent you are, you probobly would be convicted. By for TSA agens to touch little children is leagal for some reason.
I would sue them for the unnecessary public humility.
They did not strip search him. http://blog.tsa.gov/2010/11/response-to-young-boy-strip-searched-by.html
The father took the boy’s shirt off without being asked. The TSA will never order you to take off clothing. In addition children will only ever get modifies less invasive pat downs and there parents will always be present.
The TSA has to check children as there is no reason why a child cannot be a terrorist, there are children in Guantanamo.
The USA cannot possibly use the same systems as Israel does, the USA is way too big. Tactics like interviewing every passenger work great if you have a few thousand passengers and one mid-size international airport, but not at hundreds of airports accommodating millions of passengers.
The main idea of security is to be a deterrent. If people think they won’t be able to get through they won’t try.
