Yep I know it was selfish and all but it was all for naught. All is lost. They didn’t fall for my shtick and I have to go back tomorrow…. As Franklin Roosevelt (was it him?) once said “democracy is a terrible terrible system; but it’s darn better than anything else we’ve got!”
